How to use the weeks-until calculator

1. Leave From on today, or set it to another start date.
2. Pick your target date — the day you are counting toward.
3. Read the headline weeks and days remaining, plus total weeks, total days, the number of weekdays in between, and the weekday the target falls on.
4. If the target is in the past, the tool switches to "weeks ago" automatically.

How "weeks until" is counted

The calculation is deliberately simple and transparent: the tool counts the exact number of days from the "from" date to the target date, then expresses that as whole weeks plus leftover days (days ÷ 7). Ninety days, for example, is 12 weeks and 6 days. It also shows the same span as a total number of weeks, including the fractional part, so you can see partial weeks at a glance.

A few practical notes:

• Counting is elapsed. The day you start from is day zero; the target day is the last day counted. That is the intuitive way to answer "how long until…".
• Weekdays shows how many Monday-to-Friday days fall in the span — handy for estimating working time before a deadline. For a full working-day count with holidays removed, use the days between dates tool.
• Due dates. If you are counting toward a pregnancy due date, remember that clinical "weeks pregnant" are measured forward from the last menstrual period, which is not the same as the time remaining until the due date.

Most uses cluster around planning. Teachers count the weeks left in a term, project managers count sprints before a launch, and students count study weeks before an exam. The useful figure differs each time: "weeks and days" for a human-readable countdown, "total weeks" as a decimal for capacity planning, and "weekdays" when only working time counts. Because the tool shows all three at once, you can read whichever matches the decision in front of you without redoing the sum.
